Despite the current situation and after the special coronavirus immigration measures announced on March 16, immigration officers are making sure that the process goes as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.
On November 3rd , Saskatchewan held a new draw inviting a total of 534 candidates invitations to eligible candidates in the SINP Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry streams of their provincial nominee programs. Only candidates with work experience in select technology fields were included in this specific SINP draw. Unlike many other provincial immigration programs, SINP does not require a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer.
SINP Occupations in Demand sub-category
Invitations: 262
Minimum score: 68
To receive an invitation under the Occupations in Demand sub-category applicants, must meet the points requirement as well as have experience in 55 occupations were included in this round of invitations.
Express Entry sub-category
Invitations: 272
Minimum score: 68
In addition to the minimum points score, applicants who receive an invitation under the Express Entry sub-category must also be able to demonstrate work experience in one of 47 occupations that the SINP is targeting.
SINP Occupations in Demand Stream
To be eligible for this program, you must score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid. Candidates are ranked based on a variety of factors, including education, work experience and language proficiency. Candidates with stronger credentials and language proficiency will be ranked higher and therefore more likely to receive an invitation to apply.
SINP Express Entry Stream
The SINP Express Entry system is similar to the federal Express Entry system however they are not the same program. Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest to SINP and have a valid federal Express Entry profile to be considered for this program. Applicants are also scored with based on the SINP points assessment grid and those with stronger credentials and higher language proficiency will have better chances
Immigration to Saskatchewan under the provincial nominee programs consists of three phases. The candidate first needs to express his interest in moving permanently to the province by creating an online profile where he provides details about his education, work experience, language proficiency level, etc. as well as any adaptability factors including having a family member in the province, having a job offer, or being a graduate of a learning institution there.
The candidate must have a minimum of 60 points to be eligible to enter the draw. Points are computed based on a Points Assessment Grid. During the draw, candidates will be chosen based on their scores and will be nominated by the province. After which the applicant must complete his Saskatchewan application for final verification by the province and then will be able to apply for the permanent residency.
