After a short pause of processing the temporary residence visa (TRV) “online” and the electrical travel authorization (eTA), the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announces the resumption of processing these two types of applications starting June 9, 2020.
Processing will take in consideration prioritizing applications based on the eligibility of the individuals to travel to Canada “based on current travel restrictions”. In addition, IRCC will resume the manual processing of eTA applications that drop out for immigration officer review, also “to the extent possible.”
IRCC aims at dealing with the expected increase in applications when travel restrictions are lifted and seeking to normalize the processing time of applications.
