Ontario PNP issues 1,186 invitations for Tech Workers in the Express Entry Pool

On February 16, Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted its first draw of the year targeting applicants under the Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream with work experience in one of the six targeted tech occupations.

The Feb. 16 targeted tech draw is part of OINP’s Human Capital Priorities Stream. What has many people excited about OINP’s targeted tech draws is that candidates do not require a job offer, or even experience in Ontario to be eligible.

Ontario sent invitations to 1,186 tech professionals already submitted to the federal Express Entry program. Eligible candidates must have a CRS score between 453 and 467. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate work experience in one of the six occupations listed below:

  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)

If you receive a nomination from OINP for this draw you will get a notification on your IRCC online account. You will have 45 calendar days from the date you receive the Notification of Interest from Ontario to submit an application.

The processing fee is $1,500. This processing fee is in addition to the fees that you will need pay to complete the processing of your Express Entry application. For a single applicant, the federal government processing fees are approximately $1,325.
